The typical ways of biomass power generation

Generally, the typical ways of biomass power generation include direct combustion power generation, hybrid combustion power generation and gasification power generation. Direct combustion power generation refers to the transportation of biomass raw materials into boilers to produce steam, drive steam turbines, and drive generators to generate electricity. Hybrid combustion power generation refers to the mixed combustion of biomass and coal.


There are two main ways:

1. Feed the biomass raw materials directly into the coal-fired boiler, co-combust with the coal, generate steam, and drive the steam turbine to generate electricity.

2. Firstly, the biomass raw materials are gasified in the gasifier to form combustible gas, and then burned. Coal boilers, combustible gas and coal co-combustion to produce steam, driving steam turbines to generate electricity.


Gasification power generation refers to in the gasifier, gasification of biomass raw materials to produce combustible gas. After it is purified, supply to internal combustion engine or a small gas turbine to drive the generator to generate electricity. LCDRI technical process:

Biomass gasification power generation through the following four steps:

1、 The biomass is made into granules.

2、 Producing combustible gas in rotary biomass gasification retort furnace and purified to become clean gas.

3、Gas enters the internal combustion engine to generate electricity.

4、The waste heat is used to transform the exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine into the required heat energy (steam, hot water) for heating or cooling.
